This may come as a surprise, but little kids are messy.

Shocker, right?

From the backyard to the kitchen, my dudes are in a constant state of stickiness. As soon as I’m done wiping Asher’s juice spill, Joseph has decided to give himself a pedicure with mama’s lip gloss. (Yes, this actually happened. And yes, my beloved Burt’s Bees gloss is now in the trash. I played Taps while it made its sad descent into the garbage can.) Messes at home are one thing — but when we’re traveling? Oh. my. word.

When my boys are off home turf, they seem to sense that it is now the time to take messes up a notch. And there I am, stuck in the car, desperately searching for a leftover napkin to mop up the ketchup oozing on the booster seat. If we’re lucky, we have a tub of wipes in the car. Unfortunately, they’re usually in the back. And when we’re making some trek on the highway, there’s no way I’m climbing over car seats to the back of the SUV to search for that tub of wipes we had forgotten about until right then.

Summer is for trips and backyard adventures, and messes are inevitable. I have a solution (and a cute one at that!) for sticky summer situations. Wipes on wipes on wipes!

I’m digging the new Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean wipes. Here’s what I like about them: They’re portable — and refillable. Unlike other travel wipe cases, they zip, which keeps the wipes from drying out — a huge plus in this family. The Clutch ‘n’ Clean wipes also have a little buttoned strap, allowing the clutch to attach on diaper bags, purses, beach totes, strollers, whatever. (If you’re going to a baby shower this summer, add this to your gift! The mama-to-be will thank you.)

These clutches come in three designs, and you know I’m a sucker for cute things, so of course I nabbed each one. (Thanks, Huggies!) As a mom of two boys, I like sneaking girly touches to our normal routine…I think the flower print is my fave. I also like the soft matte vinyl finish of the clutches.

When I had the chance to review the wipes from Huggies, I was happy to do so. We’re already big fans of Huggies Natural Care wipes. We’ve used them since Joseph was in diapers. Our kiddos both have sensitive skin, but don’t break out from these wipes. (And, it should be noted, these wipes are sturdy. I don’t have to go into details here, but when you’re changing a diaper…sometimes you need a wipe that can handle a lot. Enough said.) I nabbed mine from Target, but the clutches are now available at grocery stores and mass retailers nationwide.

The Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean wipes are a convenient size for stashing in a diaper bag or glove box. I also added one to our stroller, which made it super handy when we were at a 4th of July festival this weekend. I was constantly cleaning off Joseph and Asher’s hands, but I didn’t have to dig around in the diaper bag when they wanted to go from the petting zoo to funnel cake. Those little time-savers are kind of more like sanity-savers, am I right?

So, here’s my question for you parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, babysitters: What has been the craziest mess your little one has gotten into?

Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean* and Huggies Designer Tubs stylish baby wipes are always within arms reach to tackle any mess — no matter where you are!

Disclosure: Huggies sponsored today’s post, but my opinions are my own.

  1. YOu know, I think I’ll be using baby wipes for ever now. Mine is almost 5 years old and I can see a long use of them. Huggies is the best!!

  2. I’m in love with this clutch. I have one attached to our beach bag. I need to pick up another to have just around (because I also love the designs.)

  3. The Clutch looks cute for my makeup as I have no kids, so the only messes I need to contain inside my purse are my own, and it’s usually cosmetic products! LOL 🙂

  4. Adorable! These clutches are pretty cool too. I see these on Etsy all the time along with instructions on how to reuse an old baby wipes container. Of course, there are recipes for your own baby wipes, too. I think it’s a great idea whether your buy or make. I know I wouldn’t mind having one handy because we all tend to make a little mess every now and then.

  5. My son is 6 and oh, how I needed these over the holiday weekend. The two little wet naps I had in the first aid kit (yeah, I keep ’em there) didn’t help at all w/the cotton candy & sno cone messes we encountered. 😉

  6. I love the look of these clutches. Worst mess…hands down was Vaseline in the hair. Worst!

  7. Ooh I am loving these products, just had little mess makers visiting today! Might need to give their mommy with some of these awesome products. The biggest mess to date for my son was the time he was hewing gum at the movies and blew a huge bubble that got stuck all over his face, hair, eyebrows and lashes. Such a crazy day!

  8. This is a wonderful idea. It will definitely come in handy with the little ones in a cute, fun, and easy way.

  9. No matter how old my kids get, I’ll always have some baby wipes dangling from somewhere to keep them clean. So glad Huggies keeps coming up with neat products that we can keep on using.
