how to live radiantly + embrace the camera

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant. All opinions are 100% mine.

What makes you feel beautiful? I mean really, honestly, truly radiant?

For me, it’s not when I’m trading flip flops for high heels and ponytails for perfect curls. I feel the most beautiful when my four-year-old wanders over to kiss me on the forehead and whispers, “I yuv you” in my ear, before hopping back to his trains. I feel most beautiful when my 16-month-old toddles over, climbing into my lap with “Baby, mommy? Baby?” and snuggles in, looking at me with those deep brown eyes that I so easily get lost in.

I wish I could bottle up those moments and memories, those little glimpses of light in what can be a dark world, and save them for a rainy day. While I can’t, I do try to photograph those radiant moments. There’s a popular hashtag on Instagram called #embracethecamera that encourages mamas to jump into photos with their little ones, since usually us moms are on the other side of the camera. Not only is it good for me to capture these times, but I think it’s a gift for my boys to be able to look back on these photos and see that they had a mama who glowed when she put Legos together with her little boys, when she pushed them “high, high up!” on the swings at the park.

Alison Sweeney puts it this way: “To me, true radiance is a combination of strength and beauty.” And, at our very best, isn’t that what we are as mothers? Women who are filled with strength and beauty that radiates from within? (Check out her tips to bring out your inner radiance here.)

I recently had the opportunity to review new Arm & Hammer’s Truly Radiant, line, and it got me thinking about what it means to live radiantly. And I thought about how when we mamas have true joy, it radiates. And I thought about how this world could really use more smiles. And I thought about how there’s a lot of women out there who are absolutely beautiful, and they don’t feel that way. And if they would just embrace their smiles…well, the world would be a little brighter.

It’s no secret that this work-at-home mama loves strong coffee (and, okay, the occasional soda), so I was excited to see if the Truly Radiant line would help brighten my smile. The goal of the line is to give users a cleaner, stronger, and whiter smile.

Live Radiantly Review Arm & Hammer Spin Brush and Toothpaste and Whitening Booster

I was like a kid-in-a-candyshop-excited (maybe not the best comparison?) to try the Truly Radiant Extra White Spinbrush because I usually use a boring traditional toothbrush. I just felt so powerful with a spinning toothbrush! I’m not surprised that it removes 100 percent more surface stains than a manual toothbrush. Combined with the Truly Radiant toothpaste (the only toothpaste with baking soda, peroxide, and active calcium), I can honestly say that my teeth have just felt…cleaner. Like just-went-to-the-dentist clean — without all of the guilt the lady always lays on me for not flossing enough. (I’m sorry, okay?!)

Live Radiantly Review Arm & Hammer Spin Brush and Toothpaste and Whitening Booster

Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant Whitening Booster is clinically proven to whiten teeth in just one week and contains 3x more whitening agent than a leading white strip. And it’s great for time-crunched ladies like me — you just apply to your toothbrush, on top of your toothpaste. So easy!

I can get behind a product that 1) works and 2) equips women to feel good about their smiles. So go ahead, #embracethecamera and live radiantly with the people you love. Because, really.

The world could use more smiles.

  1. A new haircut makes me feel radiant, but a nice smile too. I’m pretty obsessed with making my teeth as white as possible. I’ll be sure to try these products out.

  2. I love your picture with your sons. I work hard to feel good inside, to feel good about who I am, and therefore I come across as radiant in my pictures! And trust me, I did not always feel this way so I know the difference. Thanks for the positive energy in this post!

  3. love what Alison Sweeny says about motherhood. I think your take on being radiant is spot on. I have to agree I feel the same way snuggling with my kids. I hate using those strips so I’ll be looking for this whiting toothpaste, thanks.

  4. First of all, great post. Second, you see, like such a wonderful mom. I miss miss miss my kids being in those sweet baby stages, but I cherish these moments in this new stage as well. I am a coffee lover as well, and I think I’m going to give this toothpaste a try. Keep smiling and taking those beautiful pictures mama.

  5. My dentist always recommends any electric toothbrush over a manual. This Spinbrush looks like a good one, too! You truly are radiant with your kids 🙂

  6. Arm & Hammer is my husband’s favorite toothpaste. He says we don’t have toothpaste in the house if we run out, even if there’s another brand in the house. -_- 🙂

  7. A microdermabrasion session makes me feel radiant. You are gorgeous and so are your teeth. I’ll have to check these products out.

  8. What makes me feel radient is compliments from my kids. I can be sitting in my PJs with messy hair working on the blog and my 5 year old will come up to me and say, “Mommy… you are the most beautiful-est mommy ever!” I love that kid!
