It’s back-to-school time, and Joseph was thrilled to start back up with preschool. (I, however, am choking back tears.) Summer vacation may be over, but I’m so thankful for all the happy memories we made.
Joseph has a blast in the kitchen, but mama confession time: Sometimes I don’t let him bake with me because of the inevitable mess. I know, terrible.
But that’s what grandmas are for, right? This summer, we were able to spend a couple of weeks visiting family, and my mom was constantly coming up with creative (and usually messy) activities. I think they baked five batches of brownies in the course of three days.
Messes do not phase this woman.
Let me fill you in on her secret: Paper towels. Growing up, paper towels were always within reach, and she has seriously speedy skills for swiping up spills.
Paper towels aren’t created equal. She gets the good stuff, and now I see why. Viva paper towels are the type of towels where one is enough, even for brownie batter seeping down the counter. They’re stretchy with an almost sponge-like absorbency, which helps soak up major spills and scrub away the stick.
Since I clean up about five billion spills a day, I was giddy at the thought of getting my hands on the new Viva Vantage Towels. (Hi, I’m Kayla and I have two free-spirited little boys and one disaster of a dog.) They’re made with a “V-Flex Weave,” which helps makes them super stretchy. If you have little people who are prone to spills, try these. I’ve scrubbed away sticky medicine that found its way puddled on my floor and soaked up vegetable oil in seconds. (I think both of those spills happened within two minutes of each other. My life, people. My life.)
I’m still learning that whole don’t stress the mess lesson that my mom has so amazingly mastered. Maybe part of that is just having the right tools to swipe up messes so I can get back to making memories.
